Robert Jay (R.J.) Taylor, has lived in Manatee County, Florida all of his life. His family arrived in Florida in 1826. He is President of Taylor & Fulton, Inc. in Palmetto, Florida. Taylor & Fulton is a family business engaged in the production and marketing of tomatoes and vegetables. The company has locations in Florida, Georgia and the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Mr. Taylor is currently on the Board of Directors of American Bancshares, American Bank of Bradenton, the Rubonia Day Care Center (a migrant day care facility), The Florida Farmers Inc., the Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association, the Florida Tomato Committee, the Florida Tomato Exchange (President 1998 to present), and the Strategic Planning Council of Manatee County. Mr. Taylor was named by Governor Jeb Bush to serve on the Board of Directors of the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce and the Bradenton Yacht Club. Mr. Taylor is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Mr. Taylor, graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing. He is married to Virginia Taylor, They have three children and enjoy water sports. |
